Snoring Sleep And Marriage
There is a case documented in Davis California that a
woman snored so loudly when in bed at night that one of her
neighbors actually had her arrested under the city's anti-noise
laws. And though you can gasp either in horror or amusement at this
snippet of information, it only goes to show how emotive an issue
snoring can be.

The problem with snoring is so many of us
find the problem amusing (that is of course if we are not
affected by it). Sometimes it can even be seen as being
quite cute especially if it is a small child or baby.
Personally I don't see a small child who snores as being
cute; I just have reservations about his overall health!
There is nothing either normal or cute about snoring, it is
a problem that should be investigated and resolved
especially if it is really bad and affecting your life.
It may be hard to believe, but snoring can actually help to
part some married couples, and those in long term relationships. As one expert said, "Snoring can disrupt
good marriages, and worsen bad ones"
There seems to be a general consensus of opinion that men
snore more than women, however many experts disagree with
this. Some sleep experts think that on the whole men tend to
sleep more soundly than women, therefore they are less
likely to be disturbed by their spouse snoring. |
|
Another reason that it is thought the problem
lies more with men is women are more likely to drag their spouse
to the doctor to have the problem sorted. So in general women
probably snore just as much as men.
So how do you restore the peace in a relationship
and in the bedroom? It's simple really; you need to look at ways
and means of reducing your snoring problem
Try these simple remedies and see if they work

Sleep on your side. We all know snoring
becomes worse when the perpetrator lies on their back, so
try and get into the habit of lying on your side at night.
If he/she keeps turning onto their back, be devious and sew
a ball into the back of their pajamas, night dress or
whatever else they wear for bed!
Invest in some earplugs. Soft foam ear plugs can be a boon
if you sleep with a snorer and can often mean the difference
between having a good night's sleep and/or entertaining
murderous thoughts about the snorer.
Don't drink alcohol. It's one of the worst offenders for
causing snoring as it relaxes the muscles around the
airways. If you must have a drink, try and have it at least
four hours before you go to bed, the effects shouldn't be so
bad then. |
|
Also consider the more you drink, the louder
you will snore.
Lose some weight. Unfortunately weight gain is a
major cause of snoring due to the excess fatty tissue
surrounding the throat area. Lose a few pounds and you should
find the snoring improves.
Stop smoking. Smoke from cigarettes can cause swelling and
inflammation to the throat tissue. When swollen they tend to
vibrate more and make the snoring problem worse.
