Eliminate Acid Reflux
Recognizing the Problem
Burning pain rising up the esophagus, lasting for
hours, that is acid reflux. It has effected so many of the people I
love. I am so glad I came upon a fast, easy remedy years ago. I just
hate to see people in pain. This remedy is so simple, no one wants
to believe it could work. But, nothing like pain relief to make a
convert!
Years ago my beloved teenaged step-daughter was
struck with a bout of acid reflux. (It seems to run in families.) I
made her one of my famous "cocktails". "Just swallow one mouthful",
I said, and watched her face as her eyes widened and the look of
disbelief changed to amazement. One swallow and the pain was gone!
The fire-breathing dragon in her chest had been totally quenched. I
don’t think she ever doubted me again. In over thirty years of using
this remedy, I have never seen it fail.
An Alternative
Baking Soda is a fast simple way to neutralize excess
acid. Obviously, without acid your body would not be able to convert
food to nutrients. However, if acid reflux is ruining your evening,
give Baking Soda a chance.
Using Baking Soda
Use exactly one half teaspoon of Baking Soda in a
glass of water. (As little as four ounces of water is enough.) You
may add ice to make it taste better.
This is the important part. Stir briskly until the
water is clear! Do not drink if the water is still cloudy, because
the Baking Soda is not completely dissolved.
Drink. It will work immediately.
Considerations
Acid reflux isn’t only for adults, it can effect
children and teens. You may be concerned about reports that the new
acid reflux drugs can be addictive or that use of prescription acid
reflux remedies may be linked to an increase in cancer. Especially
with children, Baking Soda is a good place to start. It is easy to
make, and costs almost nothing to try.
Experiment with dietary changes as well. I have
observed that baked potatoes and white flour can be triggers.
Reducing these two diet items has almost eliminated the need to make
Baking Soda "cocktails" at my house. However, these are not the
triggers that conventional medicine identifies. See if you can
correlate your acid reflux with certain foods. The best
option is prevention, but when that fails, Baking Soda "cocktails"
can be your back-up.
The biggest concern here is that you need to know
that what you are seeing is acid reflux, and not a heart attack.
Know the symptoms of heart attack. This is a great example of where
it is important to get checked out by a doctor.
