Making Memories For Women Who Have Terminal Breast
Cancer
One of two outstanding support foundations for women
with breast cancer is Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation.
This foundation works much like the Make A Wish Foundation because
it grants wishes to women who have terminal breast cancer.
Statistics on breast cancer are staggering for the United States.
Every 2.5 minutes another woman is diagnosed with breast cancer. A
woman dies of breast cancer every twelve minutes and it is the
number one cause of cancer deaths in women between 15 and 54. Just
think of the thousands of children who lose a parent to breast
cancer every year!

The financial strain on families is
tremendous and leave very little left over for extras, or
family times that may lift spirits and make it easier to say
good-bye. Hospital bills need to be paid and insurance may
run out if the disease is fought for a longtime. The making
Memories Breast Cancer Foundation helps by granting wishes
for terminally ill breast cancer patients. It provides them
a respite from the illness if only for a few days. It
allows families to spend time together without worrying
about finances or what bills are left unpaid by taking a
vacation.
The foundation is funded by donations and
corporate sponsors who want to make a difference in families
who are losing a loved one to breast cancer. Making a
difference in terminally ill patients is the goal of this
foundation. They hope every terminally ill patient has the
chance to make a precious memory for those they are leaving
behind. |

Stories of wishes asked for by breast cancer
patients are many and wonderful to read. One woman’s wish was
to marry her boyfriend who was also her caretaker. The
foundation granted her the wish for a country/western wedding
and provided her with a honeymoon package.

A young mother wanted her three small
children to have one wonderful memory of a family vacation
at Disney World. She was treated to a short vacation in
Florida with her husband and children. Those children will
have that wonderful memory for the rest of their lives. The
young mother passed away six short months after their trip.
Can you imagine being far away from your
brother and knowing you would not see him again this side of
heaven? One woman was experiencing this grief. Her wish
was to visit her brother in Texas, see him one more time,
and talk about their childhood memories. This wish was
granted and she was able to spend quality time with a
brother she thought she would never see again.
These remarkable stories can be granted
because of donations and fund-raising programs. |

Brides Against Breast Cancer, Quilters
Against Breast Cancer, and The Pink Envelope Project are just a
few of the programs that continue to supply this foundation with
funds.
Volunteers are an essential part of the Making
Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. If you want to make a
difference in the life of a terminally ill breast cancer
patient, look for a chapter in your area and give some of your
time. One person can make a difference!
